    Default Havasu part timer

I took the family to lake Havasu last weekend (weekend of the striper tourney) mostly for fun dragging the kids behind the boat and to rent some jetski for my Son (just turned 18) and his friend. We arrived Friday evening and had the RV hooked up ready to go just in time to catch the sunset.

We saw some boilers right by the breakwall (Sand Point Marina) so we ran down to see if we could get them to bite. We threw swim baits, crankbaits and white mini jigs at them and got one on each, no repeaters, all three juvinile stripers no more than 10 inches. While at the Marina we saw what appeared to be bass still on beds, we threw at them but they wanted nothing to do with it. Thought we would try worms in the morning.

Next morning, got some night-crawlers and hit the marina. To our surprise, what we saw the night before were not bass but Big Redear in about 10ft of water (on Beds) middle of the harbor. here are some pics.

Didn't fish much while out on the boat, but did give it a try every time we would stop in a cove to chill. not much to report, one very solid striper that shook loose when it jumped (3-4 lb'er good size fish).

Next morning caught a few carp on bread, they would not touch corn:

    and one more of these

Thanks for listening, enjoy the pics

nice report! we fished that area for 10 days ending the derby weekend and were dissappointed with the bite. looks like you got into a good redear bite (good eating fish) and the carp are a fun bonus.
    thanks for the good read.
