Default Blythe in the wind 5-02-09

Been planning a trip to Blythe with fellow FNN'er Lightning or a few weeks now..
launched he plans and off we go... he would meet up with me at my fave spot
(he caught up with me after my second cast great timing).thought have to admit was feeling bit apprehensive bout the trip..after reading the reports of high wind...
but hey YA GOT TO FISH!!...just passing the prison i saw a critter standing in the road
thought it was a coyote,,but it turned out to be a kit fox..never see one in the wild before
knew this was going to be a good day...so not soon after Lightning arrives..made cast with my fave spinnerbait
    and on very next cast

not biggest but as for me.....am a Numbers dude..give me lots of 1 to 2 LBS
and i am a happy bloke..i did get a few more hits but did not hook up
(note to self stinger hook)..could hear fishing breaking so grabbed my top water rig
tied on my Ima skimmer top water and went to work..first cast

ended up have a very good top water day..well since it was overcast most of day
had a few more bass bust my lure but they did not take it.. so we went to try a new spot..
lightning had 2 bass jump and spit the hook..he was working the DS..
    then he goes bendo...redemption

i was still working the IMA

    then lightning strikes again

i had to try the ds too...made a few casts and then out came this wee fighter
..these small bass had some strength to them..must be all the filtered energy drinks the "some how end up in the river" who knows
ended this spot with one more on the ds

and went to go try the canals for some SMB...but before went left told lightning that we should try this place just up the road...very bassy looking..lightning hooks up a nice 3lbs+ bass but it took him into the stick ups...but a few casts later ...bingo

tried the canals for a while only manged a few dinks here and there...buy now the wind has picked up..so we both through in the towel and called it a day..like i said not the biggest but we had steady action..just enough to make you want to come back..Lightning thanks man for a good trip..CHEERS!

    El....
