    Default Trolling Plates

Does anybody use/used or have input on trolling plates like the Happy Troller. Do they work good? Thinking about trying one on an 18' bayliner 4cyl I/O.

    Thanks

I had to buy one 2 years ago cause my 4 cyl. i/o would idle just to fast. i can now troll below 1mph if i want. i got this one from cabelas http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/te...set=ISO-8859-1

the one in basspro has that cable you have to remember to pull up when you want to throttle it up. and you will forget many times, and will have to get out of your seat constaltly. the one from cabelas is spring activated to go up when you go faster. love it to death. best buy i made for my boat beside the trolling motor. very easy to install. and despit some of the reviews that it says it makes it harder to turn. they are overegsagerated. it does take a couple of trips to learn to adjust, but thats it. NOW GO GET ONE NOW.

I have a Tracker 175 with a 115hp Merc. I put a Happy Troller on and could not be happier. Really slows down the boat!

I have the happy troller. I have already bent it once trying to pull it up again. I like the Cabela's idea of spring loaded!!!!
