    Default Crab Fishing on Pier

Hey like he said as long as it is a public and not a private pier you do not need a license. However you do need a crab gauge as well as you are only allowed a maximum of two nets per angler on a pier. Good Luck!

I don't know much about crabin' but I was at balboa a few weeks ago... Not fishing just hangin with my daughter and while we happened to be there someone netted a decent size crab. It was pretty cool, my daughter was really into it... The guy let him crawl around on the pier while people got to check it out...

Remember, you can only use two fishing appliances at once on a public pier, either two hoop nets or two poles. Or one hoop net and one pole.
