Default A Ducky day @ Corona Lake 3/27

I was the fourth car in the gate this morning. I rented a boat and was at my choice of fishing spot by 6:30. The weather was not too cool and only a slight breeze. My last two trips there I came home with a bag of skunk. Today I SPANKED that skunk. I had my first two by 7:30 both about a pound each. I moved to a different spot at 9:00 and got a hook up right away, but this one broke my leader at the boat. He looked like about a 2 pounder and by the way he faught it had to be a Tailwalker. About 10:00 a boat troling goes by, pretty close to where my line was and without any bobbing on my pole the line starts going that way. I grab the pole and start reeling in, then I notice the guy in the boat is not reaching for his pole. FISH ON. This guy took me around my boat onne and almost fouled in the anchor line. It pulled line on the drag and took awhile to land him. He is the fish on top of my ice chest. A 21" 4# Tailwalker. Getting him in the boat made my day.

My last catch of the day was a 2 pounder that hit the Garlic Powerbait so hard it almost pulled my pole over the side of the boat.

All fish today were caught using the same bait dipped in a garlic oil. I was done fishing at 11:00 and thought about getting a second permit but since two other boats moved into the spot I had I decided to just clean them and head home for the day.

    Heck Yeah!
Corona was great today. I just couldn't get those suckers in. They were willing biters, but even better fighters.

    Congrats!
