    Default Finally! first back appt.

    Woohoo!
After months of being in pain, today is my first back doctor appointment on my insurance! Wish me luck guys! Can't wait till I'm back in to full action!
Mike just sent me a fishing report that I missed out on because of my back that I would have given anything to go on! Can't wait till I can ride my bike and go hiking and fishing again! There might still be a chance for me in the high sierras this year!

Will post up if they let me know what's going on today. Might take a few more appointments for a full diagnosis as they may have to transfer me to a specialist.

Well that was cool! Sure is much easier to get help when you have insurance.

They sent me in to the sport injury section of the hospital.
I was told I do not exercise enough. I have to get out and do some daily walking, along with several other stretches they gave me on a sheet of paper.

They also gave me some anti-inflammatory medication to take to try and prevent the "spasm attacks", which basically cause my pain to come and go as it pleases while always leaving my back clicking from the strains. And some other medication to take for pain at night and in the morning when it's at it's worst. To relax the muscles.

Looks like I have to set up a strict exercise routine and munch some pills for a couple weeks and report back on how I feel. They say my problem won't go away with rest, it will only get worse. Now to work fishing in to the routine Wonder how fast I can run and gun.

Tj.(casey) ive had a weak lower back for 40yrs. Floor sretechs, are the key, and ab work outs. A few sit ups ,makes your back alot stronger. When you have this problem ,you just need to know your limitations. Never, and i mean never get talked into to back surgery.they tried to talk me into it years ago. Good luck ,and just play it smart ,and youll be find . Hope to see you out there sometime.....god bless, and peace out..... Mike the pmb....

I had the surgery in 06 and I am pretty happy with it. I fought off the surgery for over 15 years and had withdrawals from the pain killers after finally getting the back fixed. Sometimes the adjustments, stretches, and sit ups just don't help any more. As for the limitations, I often forget that I will never be young again and I over do the fun only to pay the price for the next few days.

Good luck with the back. I feel for you and hate to see any one with back pain. It does throw a wrench in day to day life.

so the diagnosis was that you're lazy? that's a tough one. i guess its better than a broken back. you get an x-ray at least?
