Baitcasting rod for surf

I am lookin for a baitcasting rod for the surf. Maybe 8 to 12lb test. Use to throw lures or swimbaits into surf. I think it should be between 7 and 8 feet. My price range is between $100 and $250. Any suggestions.

The Phenix X-10 Crankbait rod should definitely be on your list. I use mine for Flash minnow 110s, 5/8oz Krockadiles, 1/2 or 3/4oz Kastmasters, and 4in Big Hammer swimbaits. It has a fiberglass tip with the rest of the rod being graphite & carbon fiber. The softer tip prevents the halibut from throwing the hook while the graphite and carbon fiber give it plenty of backbone. It's 7' long and rated for 1/4oz-1oz. I am fairly certain that there is a 7'6" version. I like mine a lot!

If you choose not to go with the X-10, keep in mind that you want to look for a rod with a moderate or moderate fast action and a strong backbone. Basically, take a look at bass crankbait rods.

st croix legend tournament 7'10" magnum cranker as long as you don't need to throw things less than 1/2 oz. american made blanks and everything. great warranty, they just don't spend the $ on ads that other companies do. overkill for perch though, but you asked about a casting rod.

I have a 7' Shimano Compre crankbait rod....so far im happy with it although a longer rod would be nice...

Team Daiwa V-rod 7ft Medium casting $30

Cheap when you break it in the surf and handles hali's great. Kinda stiff for a Med but good feel and bendo action.
I gave one to Matt cause he smashes all his rods in his truck bed and I think it's still holding out for him!
I like not caring when I throw my rod down on the jetty rocks about phat deep gouges in the finish or blank.

My nice rods go nowhere near the surf or jetties or NPH skiffs etc.

I would have to recommend a Lamiglas SR705R, and wouldn't you know it... just so
happens that I'm selling one! How lucky is that? Talk about a coincidence.

The rod has been fished three times, it's as new. Paid almost $200 for the rod.
It's the same rod recommended by Sinjin Kim for throwing LuckyCraft hardbaits
in the surf. On his website he talks about the XCF 705R and XCF 705 those are
the same rod, this one is made specifically for Skeete Reese. I'm asking $135 for
