    Default 2/27-3/1 San Quintin Massacre!

It's been a while since my last post.
I think I'll let the pictures tell most of the story and have everyone add to this report with their comments and pictures.
    ---------------------
Short story: We came, we fish, we killed em!!
    ---------------------
8 anglers went on this trip:
    Sansou (referred to as Yoda)
    Olfishergal
    Capt. Boracho (Onyx)
    IronShrimp (Adir)
    Osiito
    Victor101
    Cappo
    and me.
    ----------------------
    Let's get right to it.
    The morning was foggy...

First it was white fish. Every drop was a whitey and not some 1lb dink, but serious 4~6lb whole squid eatin' monsters!! That was fun!!
After about 15 of these, Adir and I started getting a little bored and wanted to fish for some reds...
    And Adir starts the massacre!

These are some seriously big Vermillions!!

Our Capitan, Hector, shows Adir the "proper" way to hold fish when taking pictures.

    Monkey see, monkey do....

Here's the only picture of me with fish...

By 11:30 or so, the fish hold is absolutely packed.
The capitan is telling us we should start heading in.
That's when Adir mentions to the capitan that he's never caught a ling cod.
    NUNCA? Nunca...OKAY...
He takes us to a little high spot, tell Adir to drop the line.
    Within seconds, BAM!

Okay, so now cherry-boy has been broken in, we're ready to go home...right?
No. Now Adir wants one that he can brag about....OKAY....
So he moves the boat 20ft, tells Adir to drop it here...
"I think I'm hung up on the bottom..."
Both me and the Capt. are yelling at him "NO!!! Wind in the line!!! That's a ling!!"
    "Are you sure?"
    "SHUT UP AND WIND!!!!"

    The result...

Yep, this ling would end up being 12.7lbs and the jackpot of the day!!

    (Dang beginners luck...)

So, now that the cherry has been THOROUGHLY popped, we're heading back to the docks.
I couldn't get a good shot, but there were whales in the bay feeding and spraying up a plume of mist. It was definitely a sight to see.

We get to the docks and find we're the first ones back.
Over the next 4 hours, they clean our fish and clean Team OzVicCappo (who killed over 5 species including a barracuda!!), and finally Team SanOlOnyx (who killed a colony of ling cods and landed a seriously tasty Chocolate Bass!!) come back to the dock.

    Then the post fishing festivities!!
Sansou had some issues to "iron" out with Adir...

    Adir just kept on sleeping...

So a concerned medical nurse came to help...

Now that Adir was revived...it's time for dinner!!
    Bonito Ceviche!

    The "Oh So Famous Clams"!!

A combination of rockfish and white fish...

Fried ling cod and the extremely tasty Chocolate bass!!

After dinner, we all go to bed and rest our tired bodies and savour the amazing day.
But of course, we had some great laughs before we did!!

The next morning, we wake up.
Have breakfast, load up the cars and head for home.
    But first, a group picture!

    My muddy truck...

    The Impala 101...

Adir fighting the urge to sleep...

    A beautiful sunset....

My new avatar according to Onyx...

    I don't know, I don't see the resemblance...LOL!!
    ------------
    Credits:
Thank you Sansou for getting us there and home safely!
Thank you Adir for redefining what it means to snore...

    awesome report and vacation FJ!

can't imagine why border patrol/customs would suspect this group of any illicit activity...

but it was a good call by legal defense counsel sansou to have onyx get rid of any hidden contraband before heading back to the states

Ah man where to begin. Had such a great time down there. Food, fishing, and making new friends. Did I mention the food. I dont think I want to see another whitefish again . Amazing life out in the bay, we almost ran into a whale, then seen a great white. The thing was massive. I enjoyed watching the Capt. beat the living crap out of each fish, i was busting up. I tried to get a video but i was laughin too hard.
    On to the pics.

    Entry to Pedro's Pangas

We tried a lil pier fishing, Vic showing us his Cabrillo skills

Pier Rat Osiito had the only hookup

I had a blast hanging out with all of you. Got to give it up to Rich for putting this together
and introducing us newbs to Baja fishing. I am definitely going to go back.
