Default Team 57 event late report

Sorry for the late report but with my DSL not able to connect, I'm stuck with dial-up and uploading pictures really sucks! I don't even go online as much now.

I was looking forward to this event and meeting new people and fishing with friends. Got to the lake at 4:40am and met up with FishWhisperer. Set up at the end of Chris's Pond and it was ON! I looked across from where I was at and it was packed with everyone trying to fit in that spot. I never fished Chris's Pond so I thought to myself that must be the hot spot. It was pretty dead until sunrise for us. After that It was steady fishing for me at least. FishWhisperer never even got a bite while he was there. Sorry Mark!

At one point I looked over to the other side where it was packed and saw everyone leaving to the other side. I guess the word got out that the other side was producing. Bad move in my opinion because around 11 that was the HOT SPOT!! Timster's buddies who also left but came back just started killing it for that next hour. Timster also came back to get in on that action. For me it was wide open but not like it was across the way. They had double and triple hook-ups going on at one point. It was only a matter of time for the word to get out as people started making there way back to that spot.

I ended getting my limit by 12 noon. I had caught 1 rainbow and 4 lightening trouts. 2 were caught on orange powerbait nuggets and the other 3 were caught with a "nitromouse" (yellow Nitro worm with a pink poweregg).

I was on the phone with Troutdog when he says "I'll call you back I got a hit!". I pick up the binoculars and saw that he had a major bendo going on. It's looked like a big trout just to see when they netted it for him it was just a carp. Not bad but I'm sure he was hoping it was a fat trout. Nice job TD!.

At 12:30 FishWhisperer and I headed over to the tent to get some grub. It was cool to hang out and meet some new people and chat with old friends. The raffles prizes were very cool and Dana and Donna put on a very fun event. Thanks you guys for putting on this event and the free t-shirt. I want to thank everyone that donated gifts for the raffle. A special thanks to SARL for letting us put this event on and all the cool gifts they donated to our event. Also Congrats to Yamafish and Ladyfish for getting your rod holders into the SARL and Corona tackle shop. Those are the best rod holders by far.

I had a great time, I fished, hung out with friends and caught fish. Not a bad day. Can't wait for the next event!

    FISH ON!!!

I stopped in at Richard's Tackle in Rosemead the other day to tell Richard thanks for his donations to our event. He is a really nice guy and full of fishing info. If your in the neighborhood stop in and check out the shop.

    MVDUB,

Great guy and a great limit of fish. I had a blast fishing next to you guys and with the action I was having, there was plenty of time to talk and screw around. Looking forward to getting out with you on Mr Stripey!
