    Looking into these baits and I was wondering, what kind of shad a native to southern cali. lakes?

    Those Bull Shad baits (American Shad look a likes) are to big to imitate our local Threadfin shad, which only reach "up to" 4 inches in size, common size is closer to 2 &3 inches...

    Sometimes predators will zero in on larger prey because it stands out more and well, which freshly- baked cookie do you take when offered a plate of them? The largest one!
