    Default Santa Fe Dam ambush

went to santa fe today with Pvt Skunk (aka my son). got there around 12:30 and to my surprise saw a few people there. we set up on the west end near the boat ramp we had lunch and started fishin. I set up Pvt Skunk with a NC on his cars fishin pole (he did not get anything on it, might be that shark line it comes with). I layed out my weapons of mass destruction It was about 15min into fishing when I got the first strike on a white rooster tail. I let lil man reel it in I wish I could have got a picture but I have to hold the pole up for him. we got the lil guy in took a pic lil man would not get near it so I returned him to fight another day. I used the white rooster for another 45min and caught 2 more. Then switched to a silver kastmaster and pulled in one on the 3rd cast pvt skunk pulled that one in also, to sum up the rest of the day we caught a total of 8 (lil man reeled) in 2 and lil man lost another 3 still has not got the hang of keeping the line tight. I only got pictures of the 2 Pvt skunk pulled in but they were all the same size more or less. It was a great day only spent $7 on lunch and lil man had a ball. He should be ready for corona and the vine this time next year. good luck out there everyone.

I know a lot of people 10 times his age that still have that problem. It is nice to see that the water level is up near the tippy top. Thanks for the report.

Hey I seen you guys out there! Thanks for saying hi. J/K dude. I seen that you had your hands full. Yeah, I seen your boy reel one in. He done great!. I didn't start catching them until I started fishing on the east side of the ramp, and after I started catching them, I couldn't keep them them on the hook long enough to bring them in. I'm thinking about hitting up SFD again tomorrow, since Legg Lake is gonna be packed with poachers. Hopefully I won't have the same problem as today.

Didn't run into any weeds around the boat launch area.
