    Default The Vine 1/4 (Pics)

Headed out to the vine to drown some bait with my bro and couple of cousins. The trout bite was sporadic but we managed eight nice fish. The lake was almost to capacity which limited shore spaces but we managed to find a nice spot on the flats kinda hidden from the wind. The wind picked up around midday but died later in the day.

Looks like you guys had a great day out there Bulldog, I like that spot where you decided to fish...especially with the wind at your back! Did you have many hang ups on the weeds over there though? What do you think was the best bait of the day? I like the fishing sack and cool straw hat with the feather in it too! Hope to meet you out there sometime, thanks for the report and cool pics.

Thanks troutdog, the spots was good with the wind to our backs but we did loose many set ups in the weeds. Most of the fish came on nightcrawler & P/B or nightcrawler & S/E. Its always a good time when you can spend time with family and friends.

Bigblue the spot is on the back side of trout island facing the Santiago flats and S/E is Salmon Egg. As for the wast shore the road is closed and you have to hike it in and I know there used to be a shuttle pontoon boat that used to take you over to west shore. I don't know if they do that anymore good luck.
