Default Pics from X-mas tourney I promised

Obviously this is a long overdue post and for the most part not a very useful report as conditions have changed and besides I hardly caught jack so what do I know! The Vine gods were much kinder the following weekend so it all evens out I guess.

I like to consider myself a man of his word and I promised Hitts and TeamBuracho that I would post some of these pictures and share some laughs....MAV send me a buck for every pic you copy and save!

12/20/08- Fishing with HittsOn and ManVsWild

Met up with Hitts and MvW for a day of fishing at the Vine and decided to grab a rental. We headed down the West Shore to beat the crowd, but our best catch there was the pic I took early in the morning of an osprey in a nearby tree...and not a very good pic at that due to light conditions at the time.

Getting up early and fishing in the cold is a labor of love at times, but pictures like this make it worth every bit of it!

After scratching around for nada we talked to Doctorhook and anchored nearby his boat around Woody's Cove....figured if we were going to have a tough go of it, might as well be in good company!

My trusted crew showing off their better sides

Cool to see snow on the mountains while fishing the Vine

After not being able to find the fish most of the day, we did a seek and inquire mission on T9 and his crew....good seeing you again T9. First mate Hitts0n(actually pronounced HittsIn believe it or not) collected intelligence and gave us the thumbs up to come ashore!

    Hitts0n lunchbreak

Apparently thats all Hitts needed as he finally broke the skunk for us! This shot was taken later in the day, but this is what the beast looked like....the fish not Hitts!

You know it is a rough day when Hitts gets the only fish between MvW and myself.

Towards the end of the day we went to the area where all the action was...."the launch ramp" where we found MAV and CRVZ soaking some baits, we weren't there all that long when this vessel began to stir!

The boat began to shake, shiver, bounce and sway....what the heck could be going on here!? OMG MAV has a fish on!!!!

What is CRVZ holding in her hand?!?!? A trout almost as big as the net!?

This picture is called "Revenge of the NubWalker!" Nice fish MAV, tail or not bro that was sure fun watching you guys in action!

It was slow day for many of us out there, but that is fishing for ya sometimes. Regardless I was with two really cool people that day, MvW I look forward to fishing with you again....glad that we have become friends Tony. Oh just so you know it is not my fault the only pic I have is you is from the back....your lady PM'd me and said no pics of you for fear of all the babes on FNN trying to steal her man away! Hitts0n or as you explained to us "HittsIn" you and I always have a blast out there....you think we didn't catch much was because we were laughing so much? The best had to be TM telling us "you see that hill over there", from the other side of the lake Patrick has definitely put us on fish more times than not this year....thanks TM65!

Finished up the day by bbqing some chicken by the cafe and chatting....a great way to end the day, among friends.

12/21/08- TeamBoracho hits the Vine (some classic pics included, Onyx hopefully you can use a few of them for that project you were telling me about! )

After a long day on the water Saturday, I dragged myself out of bed and met up with Captain Boracho, Fisherman101 and Manny(used to be man-yo)....you guys and the screen name changes I was laggin just behind and met up at the frost covered dock to grab a pontoon. We anchored outside Woody's a little further than I had the previous day and waited it out for an hour or so when it happend....I finally broke the 2 day skunk!!!!

That was it for quite awhile until we made a move down the West Shore a bit....good call by CaptainBoracho as Manny got the hot stick and landed a couple of fish to punk the skunk!

I think Manny got some good mojo from the legends fishing in the boat behind us....Timmytillo and DrHook, two of the greatest guys you'll ever have the pleasure of meeting! Oh and I recall Timster requesting that I point out in this report that he got skunked. I guess this proves even the best of 'em hafta take one on the chin once in awhile, heck even Babe Ruth struck out a few times too

I love this shot, Timster and Doctorhook taking it all in with a snow covered back drop at the Vine....craziest thing is that duck in the foreground is the same one that bit Art in Sierra Cove a few weekends prior!

Captain Boracho showing his colors for the day...

The bite was slow so I had plenty of time to take pics....here I just happend to catch Johnsfishing in an intense fishing pose with Dad Glenn guiding their ship towards greener pastures and bigger fish!

Captain Boracho in all his glory!

I think I asked Fisherman101 how many he had thus far before snapping this shot....beers not fish!

Whats a bunch of pics without a cloud shot or two right?

This guy looks happy enough to moisten his drawers!

Now I'm not too sure what is going on here, but I think Jimmy was trying to tell us where the fish were in some wierd secret code....now put on your glasses folks!

Fisherman101 dissapears under his Santa hat while artfully beaching our pontoon...

Yes you are "the man" Eddie!

As you could probably tell by this picture of TroutIsland around 3pm, the bite was pretty slow out there for most.

I just feel bad for the people that had to spend the day without good company like I had that Sunday. Manny is a very skilled angler, working the jigs and making his efforts known with high count for the day....wtg Manny! Team Boracho....Eddie and Onyx you guys are top notch. I really appreciate your efforts in making these kind of days happen. I'm sure we will all be back out there again very soon.

Thanks for reading my over due post,
