    Default Vail 12-26 Today!!! (Friday)

Matt and Jon wanted to get out of the house to do some fishing today so I took them to Vail for a while. It was 12 pm when Matt and Jon decided they wanted to go catch some bass. I wasnt doin anything but relaxing from eating to much on Christmas day so I took them to Vail and got them on the bass.
We arrived at the lake at 1pm and I got them on the bass right away.
Within minutes..Jon put his 1st bass of the day in the boat, then another, then another.
Matt was having a tough time getting used to the deep water technique we were using so I told him to watch me for a few mintues. He gave me his rod and I made a cast. I showed him how to work the bait properly to get the best results. About 20 seconds into that cast I set the hook on a "Good one"... 4 lber in the boat!!! Yaa Hooo... hahahaha Thats was all the instruction Matt needed.. He promptly took the rod back and made a cast... within seconds, Matt sets the hook on a "good one" of his own!!
    5 lber in the Boat!!!!
Thats when the trash talk from Matt started....
His brother Jon just shook his head and said.."I'll get a big one..dont you worry!!"
And get a big one Jon did!!! I took them to a tree I know about that Ive been getting some good fish out of in 26 ft of water.
I tell Jon to come up front and get ready because I wanted him to get 1st crack at this tree. I cruise up slowly with the trolling motor looking for the exact spot in 26 feet of water... then it appeared on my graph. AND IT WAS LOADED WITH BASS!!!!
Jon dropped his bait down and popped the bait once and his rod loaded up!!! He yells.."I'm on!!" and a really good bass takes him to deeper water. Jon is freaking out at this point so I told him to relax and keep the presure. I then get over the top of the fish with the boat and it came straight up into the net..... 7 lber in the boat!!!!! This is the best way to describe Jons face when I took that badboy out of the net.. ...It was priceless!!!!!

He was on cloud nine with his biggest bass ever.

I kept them on the bass until the cold of the afternoon started to get to them...It was Coooold out there!!

They caught around 9-10 bass each in the 3 1/2 hours we were out there...
They also each broke their Personal Best records Matt 5lber and Jons 7 lber.

All fish caught today were caught in bushes and trees in 21-26 ft of water and all were caught on spoons.
I'd meter around until I found a tree or bush that was holding bass in that depth and Id have them drop their baits down to the bass.

Good ol Winter Time off shore structure bass fishing!! Gotta love it!!!

If you've never done this type of fishin its a really fun way to fish... If you want to get out on the lake to experience it with me...give me a call.

    Here are the Pics....

Jon starts the day off with a nice bass....

Then Jon is quickly at it again...

Then Jon goes for the trifecta... 3-0 on Matt..

Then Matt silences Jon with a 5 lb Donkey to begin the smack talk...

Then Jon put an end to Matts smacktalk by laying the smack down on this 7 lber.

Jon poses for another pic of his donkey 7 lber and me...

    NICE JOB BOYS!!!!!!!
