    Default Grunion Run 6-2

If anybody is interested I took the boy to manhattan beach
for the grunion run and they were out in full force on the
north side of the pier. in between chaseing little fish around
in the mud I tossed out a chunk of fresh squid on the surf rod
and it was'nt ten minutes later and bendo.

This thing almost spooled me twice and ran me about two
hundred yards down the beach, pretty fun in the dark not
knowing whats on the other end. Im guessing around 30 lb's

Then Ben caught a beefy croaker

That's pretty cool, but those rays gave you a good run.

Nice Bat Ray there Ron. I bet that was a nice pull for awhile!
Looks like Ben worked his magic also.
MMMMMM....I think that all of those grunion might just bring in the butts closer for us all to start sticking them. I'm going to have to make a run down to T-Jetty I believe. 8)
Time to start thossing those LC's!

Those bats are a blast especially if on the smaller equipment. I have not caught them in the surf with the waves but in the docks in Newport Harbor with lot's of obstructions like docks, bouys and passing boats attempting to let Bat loose.

Great Job on the MUD MARLIN!!!
