    Default PV and Shoe 6-2-07

Pick up my boat from Redondo Marine on Friday after 3 weeks of "service work". Decided to take it out for a test run on Saturday 6-2-07 for a test run.

Got to the Cabrillo docks at 6 am and launched it, just to come and find out that they had left my power selector switch on and my batteries were almost dead. I thought, no problem, I'll call Vessel Assist and have them give me a jump. Well, I was informed that jumps at the docks are not covered by the 50 mile plan and they still offered me a jump for $75  BS! i thought so I canceled the call and asked a guy launching his 23' Parker.

Got it started and headed out. Got to the lighthouse and hailed for the new bait boat servicing LA Harbor. He was near the lighthouse and I picked up some nice size anchovies. I also found about 1/4 mile of Red Tide covering the length of the breakwall..

Decided to fish around PV and I encountered just about every Moo Moo boat that services Southern Cal. fishing for Cudas

It was pretty much a move, fish, move style fishing all morning long along the PV coast. We chased the cudas all the way up to the Point Vicente / Marineland area caught about 7 nice size logs. many more were hooked but released boat side :) (suckers have sharp teeth)

I then notice that the water pump problem was still not fixed. My new water pressure gage that I had installed was showing me that there was still a problem with my engine so I decide to head back towards the shoe.

Hit a couple of spots along the shoe area and hooked a few rockfish and my buddy brought up this Black Sea Bass (release after picture)

Decide to call it quits early and head back in so that I could take my boat back to the shop before they closed.

It was nice to be back in the water after so many weeks.

Cudas are out there so go Get'm!
