    Default First time hoopin!! 10-26-08

    Finally got out with my brother to break in the new hoops. Wasn't an epic trip but it was succesful. Launched outta Marina Del Rey at about 4pm and headed south to a spot "somewhere" in Santa Monica Bay. Did 2 sets for one shorty and some kelp. Made a couple moves and played with a few different depths and put it all together for a final of 2 legals at 3 1/2"...nothin huge, but legal!

    I'll post a pic or two when I find the cord for my camera.

    TOTAL FOR THE NIGHT:
    2 Legals
    6 shorts
    2 octopussys
    1 little stingray
    1 sculpin
    50 lbs. of kelp (est.)

    hey for ya first time thats good u caught a total of 8, only 2 being keepers...some dont even get that. congrats on your first trip and im sure many more to come.

    Nice job on the buggs on your first trip out.

    Some times it can be hard to keep in good spirits when pulling blanks or a lot of salad.

    I have pulled 13 sets of 10 for nada before with 2 very experienced and successful hoopers.

    I did get to enjoy a S&L lunch at lunch today.

    You will get hooked on it after you taste them.

    That 1 is of nice quality!!!
