First trip to Mexico!!
Went down to Mazatlan for 7 days, for a little R&R. We did two days of fishing . First day was all bottom fishing. We caught everything from triggers, red snapper, grouper, barracuda, and white snapper. The next day we took out a cruiser for some tuna, dorado, and marlin. We didnt see any tuna, but my brother inlaw got a 5 lb dorado, and I hook up with a Striped Marlin. My first marlin. It took about 45 minutes once the captain and deck hand got the reel fixed. Yah thats right the dam reel broke mid way. So they told me to hand line it for a bit till they could figure out what to do. Finally told them to tie it up to another reel and I will bring it in that way. So they did and it work. The fish ended up being 8 ft and 135 pounds. I dont know if thats average , but it is my biggest fish. It kind of sicked cuz the captain asked me if I wanted it and I said no, but by that time the deck hand already had the gaff in it. O well so I got some picturees. Pics are below.
