    Default 10ft alum 18.5 hp too much?

    Hey gents i got a good deal on a 10ft aluminum boat and another deal on a motor that didnt run. maneged to get the motor running and it said something about 18.5 hp at max revolutions. i was just wondering if this motor would be to big? if so does any one want to trade for a bigger boat or smaller motor.... i belive its a 64 evenrude thanks

    that motor is an old pup,,,18.5hp is pushing it because of too much weight on the stern...i think your boat will only handle an 8hp at max...

    Is it called pulling a wheelie? ^^

    I was thinking 5-8 myself...bit too much weight/power in the back for that lil boat.

    You could sell the motor and get a really nice trolling motor and 1-2 batteries I was thinking...


    40-60lb thrust ...
