Default MDR the good the bad and the ugley

Well I went out last night to try hooping for the first time, also took mwyang76 a member of the board with me. we left the dock at 6:30 got to the spot About 7:00 as soon as we got there we were looking for a spot to set up this jerk in 30+ foot gave me the horn and the spot light right in my face now I cant see where the hell I’m going just great, if he wanted to help he should have shone me where his net were 100 yards to my left. then we realized we were going to be fishing the out side from where everyone was in tight no space left close to the structure, we had 4 sets on or 3rd set is when we got our two legal’s lots of short someone also help them self to one of my new 36’’ net on the last set because we were so spread out to keep a close eye on them all.
    Nice hooping with you Wayne.
    Good people good times.

Bucket Bay took me lobster hooping for the first time.. For those who don't know Bucket, he is a stand up guy who loves fishing.

This is the first time i've been on a boat out in the ocean and got sea sick big time... Took a while for the Dramamine to kick in. I already yacked a few times before the Dramamine kicked in but the thought of lobsters kept me going. Bucket was teaching me the ropes all night.

Boat hooping is actually more difficult than it looks.. I thought you just had to drop the hoop, wait, and collect. It's not as easy as it looks.. Baiting the cages, setting the ropes, dropping the hoops, it all takes work. I give credit to you guys who drop 10 hoops.

The good news is we both went home with something.. Could've been worse.

One thing I will comment on is that there are alot of assholes out there with bigger boats who want to bully smaller boats and try to claim territory. These guys are serious about their lobsters and do not seem to do it for the fun.

Have a safe season everyone. Thanks Bucket! for the trip... you're awesome dude and I hope you enjoyed your lobster.

    Wayne
