Hey Ron, thanks once more for a really, really, nice report.
I appreciate the effort that you put into your posts.
Those were some nice looking fish.
Thanks.

Another great report. Thanks Ron. I've always wondered what's K of C stand for?
Hi one_leg,
Thanks .... I wanted to learn more about the rigs so one of the best ways to get motivated to dig out the info is to write a detailed aside !! ha ha ha
With the info provided, most sould have a better chance to catch fish !! Only one bit of information I couldn't find was the exact bottom composition of the apron (say 100yds) around each rig. I suspect it's sand/shale for Edith and rocks for Eureka but .....
Anybody know ?

JapanRon
Hi Ricky-Ray,
K of C .... well it ain't the chicken guys !! ha ha ha Seriously ..... it's the 'Knights of Columbus'. But ... you need not be anything but an angler to join. We got all flavors .... including Hienz 57s !! A little older group ..... we've also been called the 'Diaper Brigade' !!
Await your next .....

Hi JapanRon,
Its nice to know whats going on with the local scene. Very professional reporting. Although often shunned, its always fun setting hooks on a deep dropperloop only to find out what it is 10 feet from the surface. Reds, whites, and lings!

nice read again ron! wtg on the bones, i love catchin them. ryan on the so cal told me Xzibit has been goin out there lately, maybe he'll start a fishing show??
Hi Fish Bandit,
Thank you. Yes it is interesting to mess with what might be right in front of the rail !! I have mentioned before ... the last 30 minutes of a days fishing when the wind and current rip .. I'll throw a lite swimbait hopig for some surface action. Mostly Mackerel but every once in a while, I'll discover there is a mini-Calico bite in the making.
The skippers and decks ALWAYS seem to be on the lookout for boils so you know their heart is kinda in that area rather then rockfishing but ........ ya gotta fill some sacks somehow. I should start carrying my trolling rod to help spot potential Bonito bites but I don't like trolling and don't keep the fish.

Hi supasportkid,
Thanks, I had a rod ready for them with a fresh 4 1/2 blam (clear with red flakes) on a 1/4oz leadhead painted red tied to a 5 foot piece of 8lb-test fluorocarbon. All the other Bonies were caught on fly-lined bait if memory serves !! I think the 3 of us caught all the Boneis landed. Sealion got some too!
