Default Oklahoma is OK(lots of pics)

Bit late with report... I went to OK for a week to be with my gal and her family.of course had to bing the rods...well bought a set up there at the local BPS..any ways did a road trip to float the ohio river...more of that later..first stop was FT Gibson lake..man these lakes here are huge...my girl saw a spoonbill jump...an odd sight have been told by the locals but not unheard of..managed a few dink bass..on white 1" grub my go to bait...

did not have much time to fish..had to make it to the outfitters...ok got there and got our rafts and a after a good speech on the non compatablity of hooks VS rubber raft...blah blah ...ok went ...we stoped at the sand bars ..the grils went swimming..and I ...with virgin water all to me...and had forgot my water shoes..so look closely and can see me in my socks and all wading..mind you it was 80 degrees or more...

was working the river channel ..did not manage anything of size..but the dink SMB were everywhere..

went back to the lodge after a very good soaking from the remnants of the last hurricane
forget his name..but we got drenched..which its self was not a bad thing...considering the weather...
the next day found the weirdo and cru on a beautiful grand lake o cherokee
my gal and i got up early to try the morning bite

found no love..my gal went back to the house..cause she got a case of sunburn from the rafting trip...i stayed and worked a little dock..rigged my DS with gulp minnow and managed a pack of rats

headed back up and had a killer breakfast..and bout noon was asked if i wanted to take the boat out....(what would you all have said)..ok once on the water..found a small cove..shad everywhere...and the wind had kicked up...set up on point..my gal her daughter..and me..found plenty of action on the rat spots...

on DS or white underspin..the actual name of that bait excapes me..

worked a new spot..have to say the lake is beautiful
had a storm on the way ..so only fished for a bit more....
my gal managed a small whiskered fellow on the her
white bait...she did not want to touch it..so..........
had a hoot of a time in Ok..but a week is just to little of time tobe with loved onesand to fish ....I will be back
thanks for looking at my huge post..

redknight: have my eye on the gas pircies...if they come lower...a canal trip is very much called for..

buttflyzzz: that lake is one HUGE lake ...it too suffers from weekend lake lice..well during summer months..but there is sooooooo much room you can find a peaceful cove all to yourself
