Patriots landing,,,avila,,the pacific horizon 8/2/08
On the all day charter with Scott Hale of Hook Service they caught 114 assorted, 2 Ling cod, 45 red rockcod, and 5 bocaccio for a total of 166 rockcod. Big fish was a 8lb ling caught by Richard Coluga of Bakersfield, CA.

Had a blast today,,,,,,,We had hoped for the trip to PT PURISMA 2 AND 1/2 hrs north but weather wouldnt allow so we made the best of it fishing the deeper rock piles off AVILA and slightly south of there,,,,,fished iron and rubber jigs for a while with verry limited success so most switched to the baited shrimp fly rigs for most of the trip,,,,,,,seas were not absolutely unfishable BUT was still pretty bad,,,,,avg depth fished was 220 feet,,,had a verry pleasant cptn and deckhand that worked pretty hard to keep us on fish

And myself,,,, BEFORE I GOT SICK AND CHUMMED THE WHOLE TRIP,,,,Owell i guess it was my turn,,,,,,but on my behalf i will say that i never stopped fishing,,,start to finish i was dropping and winding the whole time
