    Default Line Winders

Has anyone made their own line winder? Maybe I'm getting lazy in my old age but the idea of cranking three or four hundred yards of line onto a reel, under tension, by hand, isn't my idea of a good time. I'm looked into buying a line winder but the ones I saw were like $350 plus! (Some as much as a couple thousand!!  ) I figure an electric drill, a little metal and/or pipe, and a chunk of plywood should be able to do the job. I'm just wondering, since I'm not a fan of re-inventing the wheel, if anyone's done this and might want to share some pictures of their rig so I can copy it? Thanks!

    Thanks fuj,

I looked at that one. I think that one was the $300 or $350 one I looked at. I did some cogitatin' on a design and went to the local hardware store and spent about $80 for almost all the parts I'm going to need for one. It's loosely based on that one. I'll post some pictures when I get it done. :D
