Great fishing, better cause, w/ pix

Did a lil scouting for the upcoming findraiser tourney, Save The Whaler.

This one is a bit different. Only three fish weighed, ALIVE. And have to be one of each species, spotted, sand, and calico.

La Bahia...........


We only fished one spot, for like 30 minutes, and caught these three bass in three consecutive casts. I sh*t you not! And one of each three species in 15 yds. of area.

Second cast, in the nasty stuff, and I get a drag puller/boat turner.

Turns out to be a 5lb. Sandra Dee....


As I weigh it, Brians starts screaming...."I Cant stop this fish!" I heard his drag screaming from the stern! Boat was doing circles!

Up and over, and wouldnt you know it! Teetered between 8-12 and 9-2 on the scale. Swell wouldnt get us an accurate weight......

And on my very next cast, i get bit as soon as the jig hit the water. I said "This is a big spottie!" Brian says "No way".

Sure enough.....3.3 er.....give or take.


Got a really late start for the night, looked at each other, and said, screw it, we got em, lets go home and get to bed by midinight. That we did!

17 lbs, one of each, and asleep by midnight......see you folks saturday night.

I have bass hand today. This calico was pulling drag on buttoned down 50#. After I let it go, I was looking for a hammer to hit the little star thingy on the side of my reel down more. That's a Long Beach cailco for you. Gangsta.
