Default South Lake...An ode to my pals Smitty & T/O..Oh, nice as

Started at the upper Kern on Friday for a skunkola....Decided to not F around there and make the run north. FOR SURE, we'd slay 'em at Lone Pine Creek like last summer........&#46 ;.........&#46 ;.WRONG!

We caught 0 at the Kern, 2 dinks at Lone Pine and hit some small ponds and creeks along the way North for NADA......What the?! I drove 500+ miles for this?!?!?!?!?!

Stopped by aberdeen just to see what up there, and to MAYBE get an easy fish....The town a$$es had the road blocked tho.....

We had to shoo them outta the way....Dumb a$$es!

    Check out the pics....Get which one's the *****!!! :P
Oh my?! Is Scotty growing ears????? Whatup ***** boyyyyyy!!! LMAO :P :P :P

I did find out they REALLY like bananas & apricots...

My plan C was based on T/O's report from last week, and that I'd always wanted to visit Smitty up at South. So Here we go...

I gotta say, South was WAY more beautiful than I ever imagined. Def 1 of my favorite places I've been here on God's green earth.

That's Smitty bending over down on the dock workin his butt off trying to get docks and boats ready for the throngs of fishermen waiting to get on the just de-iced lake. BTW, he was knee deep in some cold-***** water! Brrrrrrrrrrr....

Just as T/O said, the fish were STACKED the hell up at the intake. Funny thing is all the fishermen didn't wanna make the relative short hike and relegated to waiting for long periods while soaking bait near the lot. We had the intake all to ourselves. It was so beautiful there....The snow, the granit mountains, the clear cold FISHY water, and the weather was PERFECT!

    Nice shirt eh?!

    Check the colors!!!

After 3 hours of SLAYING, we kept 15 fish or so for the 5 of us, and took off back to Isabella.

We stopped outside of Independence to do a lil shooting and nitro R/C-ing

We found this lil booger too-He was a cool Horned Toad.

    The 5 amigos.....

What a perfect day (sans the driving)

Smitty runs quite the nice operation up there. EVERYONE must see the beauty of this place B4 they die! Simply awesome!!!

Greg your reports are pretty tough to top, thanks for sharing the goods. Heading up North in early June and had thoughts of doing the upper Kern beforehand as well....hopfully it heats up by then. Hope to see you on the water someday soon.

Nice report! Yeah.....the fish in Lone Pine do have a tendency to be kind of small....haha. That is where I fished for awhile during my dig at Manzanar.

I wanted to come up and visit Smitty when i fished up by Virginia Lakes but I got sidetracked by all the beauty...haha. Def have to go back and check that place out. South lake looks like a beauty!

Anyways, like the pics and looks like u had some fun petting the donkeys....haha!!
