Exclamation TEAM 57's EPIC EVENT - 23 NEW PICS ADDED!

Yes...... it was a long wave goodbye.... but I will remember this trip for a very very long time.........

The first thing I'd like to do here.... is answer a question I was asked many many times this past weekend.....

YES..... we will be having this event again next year! Without a doubt... this was an epic TEAM 57 event.

I'd like to thank Jared (Sierra Smitty) and the entire staff at Parcher's Resort for the hospitality and service they extended to us all. It was their friendly and helpful attitude that set the foundation for this GREAT event..... if you have never visited Parcher's Resort.... call Jared and make a reservation and treat yourself to a GREAT couple of days in the high sierra's.... you'll be glad you did!

I've seen a few posts with this photo... but I every time I pass "Jawbone".... this billboard cracks me up!

Arrived in Bishop around 1:30PM Thursday afternoon and was greeted by temps nearing the 100 degree mark.......

Made a quick stop at Slater's Sporting Goods in Lone Pine...

30 minutes later, I drove into Parcher's and was greeted by mild temps in the 70's...... wow!

Checked in with Jared and he mentioned that quite a few TEAM 57 members had already arrived.... so I made my way to cabin #6.

Now... before I go any further, I want to mention to those of you who may be thinking about heading to Parcher's this year..... cabin #6 is the PERFECT cabin for one or two people!

Located at the top end of the resort, this cabin is very quiet, has a back porch, is newly renovated and IMO was the ideal place to stay. The cabin is far enough back to offer lots of privacy, but also close enough to the main store and cafe as well as the main entrance to the resort.... very convienent!

Once settled..... I took a nice walk around the resort and snapped a few photos.......

Spent the first few hours just kinda hanging out and exploring the resort...... as night fell, everyone gathered outside the "Casa De Flatulence".... otherwise known as Sansou's cabin.......... where everyone partied until the wee hours....
(Ill let someone who stayed later than me tell that story! LOL!)

Like I said...... I stayed quite late at the informal TEAM 57 arrival party..... and the next morning, most were still asleep...... although a few hard core members had already headed out to fish....

The "meet & greet" pancake breakfast was still a couple hours away when I checked the temperature ......brrrrrrrrrrrrr.... !!!

Jared made sure the cafe was ready for the pancake breakfast.......

    Breakfast is served........

After breakfast I decided to explore the creek running thru the resort......... I should have spent some time fishing this water, as some very nice fish ended up coming out of this area.......

Including a PB for one of our members and a tagged fish....... cool!

Ill let those who caught those fish tell those stories........ but here's a few pics of the general area....

After doing some serious re-con and walking a good area of the creek line........ it was off to South Lake.

The trip to South Lake is VERY short. and spectacular!

We spent the early part of the day fishing South Lake....... quite a few members fished the shore next to the dock and the dam....... most everyone caught quite a few fish...... mostly stockers..... but again, Ill let those who have stories from South Lake post their reports... but here's a few shots of the area...... and a couple shots of Jared launching a pontoon....... you're hardcore Jared!

That was how I spent my day......... South Lake was beautiful and FULL of fish.... and quite a few TEAM 57 members had a lot of success there.....

Later that night..... TEAM 57 enjoyed a GREAT spaghetti dinner at Parchers.......
(photo courtesy of "XTranzMan" and spaghetti plate creation by "Sapen".)

After that..... a few of us headed for the casino.... stayed a few hours. and called it a day.

    Exclamation

Saturday morning after a nice breakfast. it was off to North Lake..... well, not North Lake... but the general area of North Lake!

Again....... it was a spectacular drive ....... and I took a few more pics....

I stopped a few places along the road and found fish in quite a few places.......... hope you can see them in the photos.....

Ran into fellow TEAM 57 member DreStyle.. and he was hooked up on his fly rod!

After spending some time in that area........ we ran into "IronShrimp"..... and decided we would all head over to Intake 2.......

Intake 2 was busy....... but there was still quite a bit a room to fish......... hung out there a while and fished..... a quick rain shower moved thru.... but all in all. PERFECT weather!

    Here's a few pics from Intake 2

Headed back to the TEAM 57 base camp Saturday afternoon........ had some lunch at Parcher's Cafe....and then headed back to the cabin for a well deserved nap!.....

A few people moved cabins and after all the switching was complete......... Granny Fish, Mike and OFG were just down the path.....

Saturday night Granny Fish & her husband Mike showed up with steaks and potatoes and the BBQ was on!

Sansou is known in France as "The Firestarter".... and he was at his best Saturday night!

I've purposely left out quite a few details and quite a few photos as I know many of our members have some great photos and stories to share as well...... and most everything Ive left out would be better told by those that had the experience of it all....... so for now.... I only have one last thing to say.....

THANK YOU to each and every TEAM 57 / FNN member that participated in this event. YOUR participation is what makes these events so successful! Im VERY grateful to all of you for your continued support.

I'm going to try to remember everyone here, but if I happen to leave you out, please send me a PM and I will correct my blunder! Keep in mind that the thin air may have had an effect on my memory!

Rich (Sansou)..... thanks for all your help.... I appreciate everything you did....... and although I didnt get to participate in the trail ride...... I DID get to see all the happy faces and smiles that you helped produce by organizing that part of the event..... Im looking forward to reading about it all and seeing all the wonderful photos!

Thanks GrannyFish and GranpaFish.... you guys always make TEAM 57 events more fun! What a generous BBQ you hosted for us the last night we were there..... the steak and potatoes were above and beyond.... and so was the wine! It was great listening to all your stories and sharing so many laughs with you guys!

OlFisherGal........ we were all worried about you when you hadnt arrived on time and we all breathed a sigh of relief when you finally DID arrive! Im glad you got to experience the trail ride and it sounds like you all had a great time!.... Even "Clyde" did! Thanks for being a great TEAM 57 supporter and Im glad your new TEAM 57 hoodie kept you warm on the ride!

XTranzMan and Sapen.... that is sure a nice rig you guys have and I was very envious when I looked inside! SWEET! Congrats Shelly on that PB trout you caught....... and Roy, that spaghetti dinner photo is without a doubt the photo of the event! LOL!

Brian and Emily (SoCalGuy and SoCalGirl) and their two great kids....... it was great having you as neighbors, your family reflects what TEAM 57 is all about. Thanks to both of you for your continued support and all the participation you both provide.... it was MY pleasure having you guys there!

Onyx (FishNScubaGuy)... what a treat hanging out with you! I laughed so hard at some of your great stories and that was a tasty couple of beers you gave me! Thank you! That water is cold huh? LOL! I only briefly had a chance to talk with your friends, but they seemed like some nice people! I hope you'll attend all the TEAM 57 events you can in the future as it was cool having you there!

Adir (IronShrimp)... you are one insane dude! I have never laughed so much in my life on a fishing trip before and you provided some great entertainment!.... I have never seen a pair of needlenose fly that far on one cast! Thanks for breakfast Sunday morning and lets have dinner this week like we discussed! Im buying!

Sue and Gator...... thanks for the bar invite at Bishop Creek Lodge... it was great hanging out with you and enjoying a drink at the BCL bar..... small, but LOTS of atmosphere... and very cool! I hope you enjoyed cabin #6 after I cleared out!

Bob (Webfoot).... man, you have to come to more TEAM 57 events! You have some great stories and I always enjoy spending time with you! It was a pleasure meeting your sister Annette and I hope we all can spend more time chatting at Legends..... from what I hear...you and our sister are a hiking studs and studette!

DreStyle and Bendo...... every time I saw you two guys you were fishing! Hardcore baby! Bendo pulled fish after fish at South Lake the day I was there and it was a hoot to see Andre score a trout on his fly rod! Hope you guys had a good time in June Loop... let us know when you return!

Koshaw, it was nice meeting you, your friend and Rotto84! Now I know who to call for firewood! Nice seeing you at South Lake and the setup you gave IronShrimp hooked him up with a fish! Very cool! I know I didnt get to spend that much time down your way, but thats always the case sometimes as I never get as much time with everyone as I'd like. I know you mentioned you work on Saturdays, but I hope you'll find a way to attend the "Legends II" event! Almond firewood rules!

Greg and Julie, thanks for your participation and thank you Greg for organizing the hike! I heard nothing but good things about it and your photos of the journey were nothing short of spectacular! Hope your car adventure was all better by the time you left, I know that kinda thing can make for a long trip. Hope to see you at "Legends II"

Drew & Viva, I didnt get to spend too much time with you guys... but I heard that you two were part of the trailride and enjoyed it very much! I hope you'll share your story and photos with us all and thank for coming out to your first TEAM 57 event! I look forward to seeing you both at "Legends II" if you can make it!

PaDDy, BigRed, Farmy, Beeracuda211 and Bones....... it was nice having you all there at the TEAM 57 event! Thanks for participating, I appreciate that! I kept hearing nothing but good reports about the Pirate Crew fishing excursions and I know you guys toughed out the heat at PVR. It WAS without a doubt HOT down there! Hope to see all of you guys at the next TEAM 57 event!

Thanks again Jared and all the staff for extending yourselves to FNN and TEAM 57...... we all appreicate your efforts very much.... and we'll be headed your way again next year!

Thanks Wingnut for your generous donation of TWO awesome BluTooth headsets for our raffle!

Last but not least...... thank you D..... you and all the help you provided made the trip very enjoyable for me and I can't thank you enough.... it was an incredible four days for sure! ;)

I didnt forget the rest of you guys!.... Im taking a break and will add more in a few ......

    Dana,

A big Thank you from the SoCal Family! We had the family vacation we've been wanting for the past few years....Incredible.

Please do this event next year, it would be nice to plan it months in advance, as some of us have to pick next year's vacations/time off at the end of this year.

Great meeting Donna, and a bunch of FNNer's at this event. Which proved to be the best we have attended so far.

Working on our post (Tons of pics) !!!!

    See you at Legends!
