Hali on the Fly

Got bored so I cruised down to the Santa Ana to toss some flies on my 7wt. Landed two super short butts and a sole or flounder. The bites were wide open though. Every cast was a bite it seemed, but the flies i have are short shanked, so I missed all but the three sets. I need figure out a good way to tie a trailer hook on. I was using my 7wt, a smallish streamer (basically a clouser without the dumbell), and a white and brown clouser, sinking tip line. All the fish were on the green streamer, but the clouser was hit the hardest. I have pic, embarassing how small it is.

It was cute how hard they didn't fight. I am going back today when the tide is right. I had some hard hits, had to be near legal, or at least a decent size. Try some different patterns, and see if i can't fish the super secret spot. Oh, BTW, there were many mullet jumping further up the river. Just a thought.
