South OC Secret Spot Report
Went to my secret spot in south OC with a friend of my son that never surf fished before. He got first fish about a 10-inch BSP and ended up with 5 total. We were standing out on the rocks where if you drop down some Perch Crack you get a WSP every time. After getting and putting back a bunch of them WAVE!!!! :oops: !!!!!!!!! Both of us Soaked from head to toe at 10AM overcast and cold.
Fished for about 2 more hours, total of three hours in the surf and ended up with:
4 each 10-inch to 12-inch BSP (one Mom)
1 each hand size BSP
15 plus WSP
3 each YFC (one 12-inch and other 8-inch)
All caught on crack and that is the first time I got YFC out of that spot.
Took a long rod and pinned a little WSP and let it soak in the surf for not.
The water had some Red Tide but did not smell and there were a lot of fish. You could see a bunch of seaweed coming toward the beach, it took about hour to get to us then we quit fishing.
