    Default 18" Walleye

Friends backyard is the river, so I was there to fish for catfish/carp w/ that setup & brought along a light spinning setup too.

Caught a 4 lb catfish while using bread balls for carp...nice fight.

I was casting out w/ the light setup w/ a few different light lures for nothing, also the water was murky. I then used a BPS Rattle Shad, on the third cast I get a hit. Wasn't sure what was on the other end but it put up a very good fight. Got it close to me & saw it was a walleye. I was very surpised to have a walleye on the other end, I was expecting a smallmouth bass...this will work!

Landed the walleye & measured it at 18", didn't get the weight but guessing around a couple pounds. Got my lure back from the fish, & gave it a li'l sugar like Jimmy Houston would...NO WAY, just kidding...released it...now I think about it, should've kept it for dinner!
