Thread: sliders, sand crabs and butts

  1. #1

Default sliders, sand crabs and butts

Arrived at 10am to these conditions:

Waves were almost non-existent, maybe one foot.
Corbina were sliding for about an hour and others too:

Around 11:15 - pick up this one - called it a day at noon.
Got to see this come from the bottom to bite.

I think I spent more time photographing than fishing today.
Talked to Ron and he asked about sand crab beds...I dug deep before I left and found just a few little guys.

    Ya know Ron,

This halibut thing is pretty addictive.

It sort of grows on you - like algae and warts.

At first it is a fluke, then it becomes a targeted fish, pretty soon many shorts are just not enough...so you aim for legals and above and find that after a certain point you REALLY need to be prepared when something BIG hits you... Landing "THAT BIG ONE"...I am talking about the fish YOU, Sinjin and Lokey on numerous occasions landed, the fish that fisherman from the surf just L O N G and wish to discover.

I am happy with a couple of legals two days in a row...A 30" or 40" plus like you guys would be a wonderful surprise one day...someday.

I am happy and done. Thanks again Ron for my recent obsession, you EFFER!

Esoterically...a new pole, a new reel ( with higher retrieve per crank ) and one lure did the trick...and lose the swivel!

Yes, I understand you are all EFFERs too...jplee and aftahour

You and some other guys started this outrageous OBSESSION...some dudes named Halijedi & Paintnfish - what, do I need to blame you too?

You won't hear from me until I surpass the aforementioned halibut slayers.

    Thanks guys for pushing me into a medicated dependency...O.C.H..&# 46;

    ...Obsessive Compulsive Halibut! NOT FUNNY!
