    Default Long Beach Surf 5-13-07

Me, Kali and little miss headed to the LBC today for a little surf fishing. Arrived at 10:30ish and I hooked my pole and Celeste's pole up with G.S. and threw out. Celeste was preoccupied looking for pirate treasure with the metal detector she bought yesterday. Ryan headed north to spot fish with Berkeley Guld sand crabs.

Ryan got hit first and whatever the hell it was ripped a lot of drag off his reel before breaking the line. He called my cell and told me to head over and fish his spot with him, so I did.

Got one pole in the water and was tying a new hook on Celeste's when my pole gets hit by one of these little @#$%^$$##^%s:

A little bit after rebaiting and throwing out, I get hit again with a FIRST for me, woooohooooo!!!!!!!!:

At first got a glimpse in shallow water and thought it was a shark but ended up as:

Of course I had to take a gratutitous 57 shot for my buddy Dana (photo of the week!):

As we were getting ready to leave, I feel a tug and this kind of creeped me out when I landed this half a carcass. Wierd stuff:

We also caught a half dozen or so of these:

Actually, everything was caught on ghost shrimp. I did get hits with the sand crabs though.
