    Default San Clemente Camping/Fishing

Went camping this weekend at San Clemente State Park. Got up early Sat. morning made the hike down only to see the Red Tide in full effect, devastating. Plan B, hopped in the truck and rolled down to one of my old spots in North SD county. It was pretty slow, but I did C & R this Hali at 24"

Checked out the beach again at San Clemente and was surprised to see that the Red Tide moved out throughout the day and by the evening it was totally gone, fished for about an hour and a half there and got some bites, but only landed a decent sand bass.

Looks like 24 to me. Great job on the hali Russo, and thanks for the report. Nice to hear the red tide's at least on the move - fished DP harbor on Saturday and the stuff was everywhere. Three hours, a handful of varied lures, Hot Sauce scent, etc. and not a single hit.

If you have seen enough of them you can almost instantly guess how close to legal one is and come damn close.

    Cool, camping and fishing.

Landing that halibut was nothing like that striper, huh?

    Nice 24 incher!

    Thank you for the report.

    I agree it doesn't look 24in.

That hali is easily over 20" - if he says it's 24 I believe it, pics have been known to be deceiving anyway.

Nice report, and props on the C&R. :thumb:
