    Default 5/7 Dana Point Exploring

Finally got out and ended up exploring Dana Point on the wrong day. Red tide everywhere so i decided to fish inside the harbor. Wasnt too bad, managed a few short halis on flash trix and even a baby calico.
    wierd tide levels today too.
Great exploring, probably be out there again soon.

    Tight lines all

    Hey Nick,
    Thanks for the report.

I bet it drives those Hali's crazy trying to look like a DRY rock when they're dripping wet?

Too bad about the Red tide.

Are you sure it wasn't the "brown tide" that DP is so famous for?

Could be, but i doubt it. Reason why i doubt it is because of the recent rain that we had that could have started it and the movement that it showed. Thats what I thought and the guy working the sportfishing shop said so too.

Whats the Brown tide like? u might be right, i dont go to DP nearly as much as you or Bullets lol. Ill pm you next time i head down and maybe you can show me the ropes!

Brown tide is when you see the nasty brown foam all over. Bullets and I have only been there about 6 times. We usually go to the Seal Beach jetties.

    Default brown tide...

the water is just realy stirred up with the wind, a few calm warm days and the fishing should get alot better. i was at the pier yesterday but didn't fish, 20 mph winds and chopy seas. gona try the harbor soon as the water clears up a bit. you did alright for yourself given the coditions, you know what your doing bud.

Nice going on the shorts and the cali too.

Better get yourself a tape measure for WHEN you land the legal or larger.

    ...positive thinking, ya know.

Thank you for the report and pictures.

    Better luck next time Nick!

Hopefully this summer we'll get a chance to fish the deep blue together again.
