Hey, I grew up in the east bay and know the surrounding lakes pretty well. If your in oakland the closest lake would probably be lake chabot in Castro Valley about 10 minutes away. They have some good trout action around this time of year. My favorite lake in the area is Los Vaqueros lake in Brentwood Livermore area probably a 45 minute drive from oakland but worth it. Always constant action NEVER been skunked there. Pm me if you go to one of these lakes or surrounding lakes and i can give you some spots. Also check out http://www.norcalfishing.com for fishing conditions.
