My buddy and I headed up to the Upper Twin Lakes on November 8. We headed out Thursday evening and made it to our friends cabin. Nice accommodations...... but cold weather fishing. The kind of weather that brings out the bigger brown trout.
Anyways, the next morning my buddy caught a 16 and another 17 inch brown trout. Solid fish for sure. Estimate the weight to be about 3 pounds. These trout were eating thick for their size. Float tubing in that water was quite comfortable that evening. I however did not hook up.
The next evening however, I hooked into a fat 18 inch brown.... real solid. Kurt nailed 2 more 15 inch browns and about a 20 inch 4 pound rainbow. The weather turned nasty with white caps so we had to head back early in that afternoon. We went back to fish the bank and I nailed about a 22 inch rainbow.... about a 5 pounder. Fatty...... on a wollly bugger. Mike landed a few smaller trout.
We had to head back on Monday 11-12-07, and hit up Pleasant Valley Reservoir on the way home. Kurt tied on a small caddis fly and had a field day on the trout in the upper stream. Nailed about 5 12 inchers in about an hour of fishing time. Weather was beautiful compared to chilly weather up by Bridgeport. Overall, it was a great trip to end the trout season..... the memory will last me til next year.[attachment=2:5658b]Closer 0215.jpg[/attachment:5658b][
