Got to Belmont Park at 6 am. Took a look at the water and decided to only throw the LCFM Aurora Black. Conditions looked great with the incoming tide. So back to the car to get the baitcasting set up and headed out with only a Leatherman and the camera.
10 minutes into it, the slab perchies came out to play. The lower cork handle on my rod is 9.25"
Had a few more hits in between that did not stick then this guy came along and whacked the LCFM.
After a few more hits and a few more slabs, I made my way south. Saw a spot the looked like it would hold fish and started working the hole. Bam, something hits and major bendo.
Did not have a tape measure but I estimate between 23 and 24" from measuring my rod based on the picture when I got home.
Left at 8 am with a big smile.
