Next Plant: Catfish in July.
Water temperature: At surface 67.10 f., 9.18 D.O. @ 10’ 67.10 f., 6.73 D.O.
Water level: Low level, private water craft are currently banned.

To protect Wohlford from invasive exotic Quagga mussels, there is a ban on private water craft and equipment that could have been exposed to mussels. Restricted equipment includes; private boats, canoes, kayaks, float tubes, trolling motors, fish finders, anchors, and other equipment that contacts the water.
The lake is offering $20 all day motor boats to seniors on Tuesday and Thursdays and to active military on the first and third Saturdays of each month.
Permits and Boat Rentals are now being issued at the Ranger Station. At present we are limited to cash transactions only. We do not sell fishing licenses, bait, or tackle so anglers must acquire these essentials elsewhere prior to their visit.
The final trout plant took place Wednesday the trout fishing should remain solid for another ten days, maybe two weeks, before it begins to slowly taper off. Powerbait in greens, yellows, or rainbow varieties have been the hot ticket.
Largemouth Bass can be found in tight to shore, early, feasting on the abundant shad. The bass respond well to frogs, shad-raps, and dark colored plastics.
Black Crappie are finally starting to emerge, in modest numbers, in the early morning hours under the cover of shade. We have had multiple fishermen weighing crappie up to two pounds with stringers containing as many as a dozen fish. Crappie are most often caught on finger jigs or live golden shiners.
