Water temperature: At surface 65.84 f., 15.34 D.O. @ 10’ 60.26 f., 6.10 D.O.
Water level: Low level, private water craft are currently banned.

To protect Wohlford from invasive exotic Quagga mussels, there is a ban on private water craft and equipment that could have been exposed to mussels. Restricted equipment includes; private boats, canoes, kayaks, float tubes, trolling motors, fish finders, anchors, and other equipment that contacts the water.
The lake is offering $20 all day motor boats to seniors on Tuesday and Thursdays and to active military on the first and third Saturdays of each month.
Permits and Boat Rentals are now being issued at the Ranger Station. At present we are limited to cash transactions only. We do not sell fishing licenses, bait, or tackle so anglers must acquire these essentials elsewhere prior to their visit.
The trout bite has been decent and should pick up considerably following Wednesday’s plant. Big fish of the week belonged to Roy Tornello of Carlsbad who caught a 7.50# trout Friday in Boat Dock Cove using a garlic green powerbait / nightcrawler combination. Powerbait in greens, yellows, or rainbow varieties have been the hot ticket.
Largemouth Bass can be found around structure. They respond well to frogs, swim-baits, and dark colored plastics.
Black Crappie are being caught in small numbers in the early morning hours under the cover of shade. Crappie are most often caught on finger jigs or live golden shiners.
Channel Catfish are plentiful throughout the lake and relish cut mackerel or chicken liver.
