I've seen people take their tubes to fish out in bays, but has anyone on here ever taken their 'toons out on the ocean? I'm not so much worried about the salt messing up the frame, I guess it is more so that I'm wondering if it is a stupid idea to do it. There are some kelp paddies near San Luis pier that I've been wanting to fish.
Go for it Steve, wash it well when your done and it's all good. If you use a trolling motor that's not made for saltwater it might be a problem? I'm not sure about currents and tides and all that but your toon should be stable enough and as long as your not swept out to sea it oughtawork okay! Take a cell phone in case the shore keeps getting further away !!!! Good Luck
