Next Plant: 1,000 lbs. of Channel Catfish Friday July 7th.
Water temperature: At surface 73.58 f., 7.61 D.O. @ 10’ 73.76 f., 6.55 D.O.
Water level: Low level, private water craft are currently banned.

To protect Wohlford from invasive exotic Quagga mussels, there is a ban on private water craft and equipment that could have been exposed to mussels. Restricted equipment includes; private boats, canoes, kayaks, float tubes, trolling motors, fish finders, anchors, and other equipment that contacts the water.
The lake is offering $20 all day motor boats to seniors on Tuesday and Thursdays and to active military every Saturday.
Permits and Boat Rentals are now being issued via a fully automated machine located at the Ranger Station. The machine takes debit/credit or cash. At present, we still do not sell fishing licenses, bait, or tackle so anglers must acquire these essentials elsewhere prior to their visit.
Catfish are plentiful and are being caught throughout the lake. Cut mackerel or chicken liver both work well for catfish.
Largemouth Bass continue to spawn and as a result can be found in relatively shallow water. Joshua Nightingale caught a 8.00# bass on a jerk-bait off the South Shore Rockpile. The bass respond well to frogs, crawdads, and dark colored plastics.
Black Crappie are being caught by boats trolling or drifting. Crappie are most often caught on finger jigs or live golden shiners.
