Skunked with the Boy

Went out Sunday to the gate South West of Buttonwillow with my 17 YO son and got skunked, fished with some sardines, boy was working the white Gizit, heck I even tried an Alabama Rig with some swim baits.

That being said I really had a great time hanging with the boy.

I'm 66 and I still remember times I went fishing with my dad. Memories like that last a lifetime for both of you. As for getting skunked, I remember what my dad used to say about that, too... "If the other team didn't win sometimes, it wouldn't be a sport."

I couldn't agree more, now he really wanted to catch fish and not so sure he would agree.

My boy is 9 and is going thru that I dont wanna go/fishing is boring phase. But, everytime I get him out there he doesnt want to leave, haha.
