Help with Halibut a Cabrillo Beach?

Hi Fishing Network,
I just moved to a few blocks from Cabrillio Beach in San Pedro and am having a great time trying to learn the beach, pier and breakwater.
My goal is Halibut. So far Im working the beach, jetty and bayside rocks with Lucky Craft 110s and Berkeley swim baits on drop shot rigs. No luck so far, but Ive only been out three times.
I'd greatly appreciate any Cabrillio halibut tips...or harbor area haibut tips. Thanks.

Check your tides, fish in coming and out going. Also try the pier I have caught many legals from the pier with live bait I caught using sabiki rigs.
