Water level: Low level, private water craft are currently banned.

Permit and Boat Rentals are sold at the Ranger Station. We do not sell fishing licenses, bait, or tackle, so anglers must acquire these essentials items elsewhere prior to their visit. All day motor boats are discounted to $20 for seniors (60+) on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and for active military every Saturday.
Due to the threat of Quagga mussels, there is a ban on private water craft and equipment. Restricted equipment includes; private boats, canoes, kayaks, float tubes, trolling motors, fish finders, anchors, and other equipment that contacts the water.
The lake will remain open seven days a week until Labor Day. Beginning the day after Labor Day we will shut down on weekdays, remaining open only on weekends only throughout autumn, then re-open for weekday fishing in early to mid-December with the first trout plant.
Catfish are being caught throughout the lake. The August 2^nd catfish plant had issues in transit resulting in a lot of floaters and a loss of maybe a third of the 750# pound plant. However, due to the abundant population of native cats there are still plenty of fish being caught. Lake Wohlford cats prefer chicken liver or cut mackerel.
Largemouth bass can be found lurking around structure. They go after crawdads, frog lures, and dark colored plastics.
