Water level: Low level, private water craft are currently banned.

To protect Wohlford from invasive exotic Quagga mussels, there is a ban on private water craft and equipment that could have been exposed to mussels. Restricted equipment includes; private boats, canoes, kayaks, float tubes, trolling motors, fish finders, anchors, and other equipment that contacts the water.
Permits and Boat Rentals are now issued by a machine located at the Ranger Station. The machine can take cash, debit, or credit. Please take note we do not sell fishing licenses, bait, or tackle so anglers must acquire these essentials elsewhere prior to their visit. The lake is offering $20 all day motor boats to active military every Saturday.
The opening of trout season is a little more than a month away. The lake will re-open for weekday fishing beginning December 9^th following the first trout plant.
The catfish bite has been slow with most of the catches coming on the west end of the lake. Chicken liver or cut mackerel are two of the most preferred baits for catfish. Stop by the ranger station for a dough-bait recipe that works well for both catfish and carp.
Mostly small bass being caught by fisherman working the tules from boats with frogs and other dark colored plastics.
The crappie bite is mostly restricted to the pre-dawn hours shutting off noticeably at sunrise so the time change should decrease that window considerably. Crappie are most often caught on finger jigs or live golden shiners.
