Water temperature: At surface 54.14 f., 7.29 D.O. @ 10’ 53.96 f., 7.12 D.O.
Water level: Low level, private water craft are currently banned.

To protect Wohlford from invasive exotic Quagga mussels, there is a ban on private water craft and equipment that could have been exposed to mussels. Restricted equipment includes private boats, canoes, kayaks, float tubes, trolling motors, fish finders, anchors, and other equipment that contacts the water.
Lake Wohlford is offering $20 all day motor boats to seniors on Tuesday and Thursdays and to active military on the first and third Saturdays of each month.
Permits and Boat Rentals are now being issued at the Ranger Station. At present we are limited to cash transactions only. We do not sell fishing licenses, bait, or tackle so anglers must acquire these essentials elsewhere prior to their visit. We apologize for any inconvenience during this transitional period.
The trout bite has been solid following Wednesday’s plant. The east end of the lake seems to be the hottest. Michael Chang of San Diego had big fish of the week with a 12.75# rainbow caught fishing a jig in Oakvale Cove. Dave and Karen Dalton of San Diego combined for a double limit of trout weighing 26.00#s using chartreuse powerbait on the east end. Top baits are powerbait (yellow or green), jigs, or inflated night-crawlers dipped in garlic sauce.
Largemouth Bass can be found around structure. Joey Mayerchik of Valley Center caught & released an 8.40# bass Sunday using a plastic worm in Boat Dock Cove. Bass respond well to crawdads, swimbaits and dark colored plastics.
