So I really started fishing back in May of 2012. As I've been working in social media, I had researched a bit online and found the Facebook pages for both Irvine Lakes and FishingLakesDotCom. Craig, one of the owners from FishingLakesDotCom responded promptly and spent some time to talk to me about Corona Lake. I took my girlfriend there and the setting was just perfect. With the backdrop of the lake against a setting sun, I proposed to her and she accepted.

I was really impressed with the fact that the owner of a lake would take the time to personally help teach a beginner how to fish.

Since then, I've also fished the sister venues of Santa Ana River Lakes and Anaheim Lake. In terms of public fishing, my *now wife* and I did get DFG licenses and have enjoyed Jackson Lake quite a bit. We've also tried Castaic, Lake Cachuma and Kenneth Hahn. (ha! Kenneth Hahn is a tiny pond, what a waste of time! I'm starting to realize that I've really gotta travel a bit out of the city if I want a real fishing experience)

Honestly speaking, I think the fish in the public lakes gave a bit harder of a fight and one actually pulled a rod into Lake Cachuma while my wife wasn't paying attention! However, I like the volume of fish and frequency that you might get a bite at the stocked lakes. Simply speaking, I like catching fish rather than sitting there trying to get one to bite! I'm happy to be an advocate for FishingLakesDotCom and will gladly share my story about the wonderful experience I've had.
