  1. my last trip i set up in the cove at the west side of the buoy line. 75 ft water, with a light 4-10lb light rod. I use 6ln floro leader on 6lb test with a small barrel swivel. put your split shot above your leader so it wont slide down. leader about 12-18". small owner hooks size 2,4,6, deprning on if i use crawlers or meat. crawlers i use a smaller hook, dines i use thesize 2 i believe, red ones are good. best tip i could give is dont leave slack in you line. make sure your line in just off the bttom and no slack. you want to see them bite it. let it sit at bottom for 10 min, if the dont touch it,,bring it up 10 cranks real slow and let it sit again.wait 1o mins do it again. I let my other just sit right off the bottom, no slack. dont fish too deep right now, 50 feet or less. When it gets real hot, they will eat the crawler pretty good , i drift them over all the points... good luck and let me know how it works out.

Hey...I've never fished for stripers. I'm assuming you go back to the buoy line at Castaic. What kind of setup do you use on the striper? (Meaning size of split shot, distance between the weight and the hook, and how much of the sardine.) What depth do you fish at usually? Any advice you can throw my way I would appreciate. Thanks.
