I am CatFishGuru from San Diego. I fish the local lakes (Otay and El Cap.) and want to fish the Imperial Valley and the River for my first flathead. Ihave caught humdreds of channels between 10-19.75lbs and cannot break 20lbs. I think my best shot is with live blugill, 80lb nylon braid and heavy gear.........Got any advice?

Thats is an excellent idea that was posed to me earlier. I will have to look into that and see about getting sponsors and for the program to work. I work at LAUSD and was looking into gettin a club started for students soon. I have to run that by teh district first though. Things are so tight now with the budget we may have to rely out outside contributions to really help facilitate it. Summer school was even cut this year except for high school. However the option will be explored and will be on my agenda to look into for the next school year. I know Heritage High school in Ontario had a fishing club so it can be done.

say blue, kudos on what you do boss. i know your a busy dude, but my wife is a middle school teacher at davis mid in compton. she wanted to try and start a fishing club for the kids, but seeing that it is nearing to the end of the school year. i was wondering if there is any way you could talk to other middle schools if had the chance to get other clubs started in the city. i am sure the sponsors and dfg would help out, but like i said that might next year. whats your thoughts???
