Any suggestions on where to bring my 6 yr old son for fishing/camping?
He has fished before however this is first time camping. I want to make sure he has a great time camping and is able to catch some fish.
Looking for somewhere LA CTY, Riverside CTY or N. San Diego CTY.

Any help would greatly be appreciated.

Thanks!

Welcome, Casitas is nice. Just went there this week.
Also, Silverwood, but you have to drive about a 1/2 mile to fish from shore....Good Luck

PM Bruce Watson, he knows all the camping places that are kid friendly. He can even tell which spot you want.

Took my kids and nieces to Lake Isabella last year and had the best time camping and fishing! Didn't go this year due to a new addition to the family (new baby girl!!! ) but we will be back next year for sure!!!

Check it out!

Welcome to FNN

I would have to say Irvine lake. Camping is rustic but really fun. Trout fishing is great. They have a separate lake just for the parents and kids to fish.

I agree with SoCalGuy7. Lake Casitas has some beautiful surroundings and I have even seen deer on the island in the middle of the lake. Silverwood Lake is also nice. There is a nice cove in Cleghorn Canyon that has a foot path that leads from the campground to the water's edge; about a 5 min. walk. You may get a chance to get a glimpse of of the local bobcats. :D
